Anna Ngann Yonn

Anna Ngann Yonn

Native from Sanaga-Maritime, Anna Ngann Yonn is a designer and model maker who graduated in 1995 from the Higher School of Arts and Techniques of Fashion ESMOD (Ecole Supérieure des Arts et Techniques de la Mode) in Paris, France.

She completed several academic internships with a few fashion houses, such as Atsuro Tayama, Paco Rabanne, Katoucha, Issey Miyake, and S.O., for which she organized many fashion shows.

Three years after returning to Cameroon, Anna Ngann Yonn made a significant impact by launching her Kreyann brand alongside the Mbondji I Bikai collection and inaugurated her Kreyann showroom in Douala in 1998.

This pivotal moment set the stage for Anna's participation in the renowned Face of Africa event, organized by Jan Malan, a South African designer. Throughout three editions, she showcased her designs in Abuja, Nigeria (1999), Cape Town, South Africa (2000), and Sun City, South Africa (2001).

2004 proved to be a milestone for Anna as she collaborated with Vlisco to create a collection for the esteemed Uniwax calendar. Her creativity continued to flourish during the Miss Central Africa contest in Yaoundé, where she crafted special outfits for esteemed guests and presented an enchanting parade of her creations. Anna's journey continued in 2006 with her participation in the Miss Central Africa contest once again, and she was also featured in the book Couleurs et Toiles (Colors and Fabrics), with an esteemed preface by Kenzo Takada. Anna's talent and vision shone brightly at the Labo Ethnic Fashion Show in Paris from 2008 to 2010, solidifying her position as an influential figure in the fashion industry.

Arnaud de Wecapounet is the visionary behind the innovative 100% Cameroonian brand IAM 237. Designed, created, and sewn entirely in Cameroon, this brand transforms dress codes with its unique blend of traditional and streetwear elements.

The creations from IAM 237 are diverse, colorful, and constantly evolving, offering a wide range of bags, sneakers, shoes, and clothing for women, children, and men, catering to all tastes. Arnaud de Wecapounet's story inspires young Cameroonians, urging them to follow his entrepreneurial path.

His journey began unexpectedly in 2015 after experiencing a professional setback in his accounting career. With limited capital, he embarked on a new venture as a designer, starting from scratch. Through dedication and perseverance, he achieved one milestone after another, expanding his business and successfully opening his first store in July 2015. Today, IAM 237 features multiple stores in Douala and Yaoundé, making its mark in fashion. The brand has garnered a significant following and has become a go-to choice for many Cameroonian artists, dressing them in their unique and stylish creations.

He has since won numerous awards, including in Paris, and has showcased his designs at international events. His garments have been featured in renowned fashion magazines and films. Martial splits his time between Paris and Cameroon and continues to gain success in the fashion world, with his designs appearing on runways worldwide

Touky

Touky is a talented and influential fashion designer. She is known for her unique work and ability to fuse African and Western influences into her designs. Touky has gained international acclaim through her innovative designs and passion for local craftsmanship.

Touky is known for incorporating traditional African fabrics and patterns into modern, sleek silhouettes. She often uses colorful and textured fabrics such as loincloth and wax... to create unique clothes and accessories. Her creations highlight the richness of Cameroonian culture while offering a contemporary aesthetic.

Touky has participated in many prestigious fashion shows in Africa and abroad as a stylist. She has also collaborated with other designers and brands to create capsule collections and exclusive clothing lines. Fashion lovers have widely appreciated her work, and she has helped promote the African fashion industry internationally.

She created Touky Institute, a prestigious educational institution in Cameroon dedicated to nurturing young talents in fashion and design. With a mission to cultivate creativity and technical skills, the institute offers comprehensive training programs encompassing various aspects of the fashion industry. By blending tradition with contemporary aesthetics, the institute celebrates the rich cultural heritage of Cameroon and Africa, encouraging students to draw inspiration from their roots.
